The ClimateMaster® Sustainability Award

On April 30, 2019 ClimateMaster® awarded Corken Steel the first annual, Sustainability Award. It is based upon the amount of CO2 reduction attained by incorporating Geothermal Heating & Cooling systems to residential dwellings between 2017 and 2018. Utilizing calculations from the Department of Energy, ClimateMaster Residential HVAC Systems reduced over 61 million pounds of CO2 (8,321 Tons of Carbon), that traditional home cooling & heating systems would have contributed otherwise.

With efficiencies higher than traditional air conditioners and furnaces, ClimateMaster Residential Heating and Cooling systems utilize the earth 24 hour per day, 7 days per week as a renewable energy, for year-round home comfort. During the Winter season, ClimateMaster Residential Systems installed in 2017 and 2018 accounted for over 36 million pounds of CO2 (5,035 Tons of Carbon) reduction, where typical furnaces would have contributed to the environment. The 2018/2019 winter season produced temperatures lower than -40⁰F and can challenge a typical heating system. However, ClimateMaster systems delivered efficiently and effectively for their customers throughout the continent.

The Sustainability Award is based upon improvements ClimateMaster Residential Systems enable for the environment above and beyond traditional systems. By using these highly efficient heating and cooling products, homeowners also enjoy a significant savings with systems lasting 20 years or more, regardless of climate location.

The inaugural winner for 2019 is Corken Steel and their ClimateMaster Dealers, with a total environmental impact of 7.8M pounds of CO2 reduction (1,065 tons of Carbon). Rounding out the top 3 distributors with the most environmental impact are: Air Products Supply (Oklahoma City) with an impact of 6.8 million pounds of CO2 reduction (934 tons of Carbon); and Creative Energy with 5.2 million pounds of CO2 reduction (711 tons of Carbon).
