As a company, ClimateMaster has always given highest priority to our system's quality. But there’s little that validates our commitment to providing consumers with the best product possible more than getting a sincere “thank you” from a satisfied customer. That’s why it was so wonderful for us to receive a message from Claire Herrell sharing her story as a testament to the longevity of ClimateMaster’s geothermal heating and cooling, and what it has meant to her.

In the summer of 2009, my husband and I purchased a second home in Rodanthe, NC. A small town in the Outer Banks of North Carolina on Hatteras Island. It’s a popular destination for surfing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, and just enjoying the shoreline. I had been dreaming of owning a beach home for nearly thirty years. And I named her Sea My Dream.

We learned that the home had been built in the nineties by a local surfer/surfboard maker. The builder was definitely thinking ahead when they installed a geothermal HVAC system. At the time of purchase, the home was in foreclosure, and the unit was not working properly. We found a local installer who replaced a solenoid and re-did some piping, and all was fine.

Prior to our purchasing the house, the island–our house included–was heavily damaged by hurricane Isabel in 2003. And since we have owned the home, we have endured hurricanes Earl, Irene, Matthew, Arthur, and Dorian. Through all of this my ClimateMaster Geothermal unit has survived!

Over the past two summers we have begun to see our electric bill rise, and the unit has gotten a bit louder, so we decided that it is time to replace our system before it fails. What’s amazing is that my wonderful HVAC person was shocked to realize that the unit operating in our home was from 1992.

The fact that this unit has survived all of this is a true testimonial to your quality.

Thanks for making such a quality product! I’m sure we will have as much luck with our next unit.

All the best,

Claire Herrell
