ClimateMaster Geothermal System Donated to Gary Sinise Foundation Home in Minnesota
June 30, 2015 – Mark and Heather Litynski recently moved into their new home near Duluth, Minn. But this home, which includes a donated ClimateMaster heating and cooling system, is very different, as it was specifically built with many features to assist Mark with every day living.
That’s because Mark is a U.S. Marine Corps Corporal who, on Nov. 19, 2010, stepped on an IED while serving his country in Afghanistan. As a result, Mark lost both legs just above the knees and his left arm just above his elbow. Mark now walks on prosthetic legs or uses a wheelchair.

The home was built by the Gary Sinise Foundation. It was designed to make every day life easy for the Litynskis. Hand rails and grab bars, wide hallways to accommodate wheelchairs and wheelchair-accessible kitchen cooktops are some of the features included in the home.
Two local Minnesota companies, ThermLink, LLC and Summit Mechanical, donated a significant portion of the home’s heating and cooling system. They installed a ClimateMaster Tranquility Medium Temperature geothermal heat pump unit.

In addition to heating and cooling, the TMW hydronic system can also provide the Litynskis with hot and chilled water.
In addition, the Litynski’s new home is “smart” and the lights, appliances and cameras can be controlled by an iPad.
The house was built by the Building for America’s Bravest program, a partner program of the Gary Sinise and Stephen Siller Tuller to Towers foundations. The home was funded by donations coming from national and local contractors and suppliers.
