ClimateMaster Announces New EarthPure® Water-Source Heat Pumps

OKLAHOMA CITY, September 17, 2007 – ClimateMaster announces the availability of new small capacity water-source heat pumps with EarthPure® (HFC-410A) Zero Ozone Depletion refrigerant.  Beginning in 2010 U.S. manufacturers may no longer produce air conditioning equipment using refrigerant R-22.  HFC-410A is the industry-accepted alternative, although it requires a complete redesign of the refrigeration circuit.  ClimateMaster is in the process of converting all product lines to this new environmentally friendly refrigerant.

ClimateMaster’s new water-source heat pumps are part of the Tranquility 20® series (TS model number).  New sizes added to the line are 1/2 ton (1.8 kW), 3/4 ton (2.6 kW), and 1 ton (3.4 kW), completing the product range from 1/2 ton (1.8 kW) through 6 ton (21 kW).  Efficiencies are noticeably higher than R-22 products, and the new units are designed for Ground Loop (Geothermal), Ground Water (Open Loop), or Water Loop (Boiler-Tower) applications.  Ground Loop ratings of up to 20 EER help provide additional points for LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) “green” buildings.

The small capacity heat pumps offer all of the benefits of the larger Tranquilty 20 series equipment, including many standard features, such as microprocessor controls, foil-backed air handler section insulation, double-isolated compressor mounting, stainless steel drain pans, and other unique advantages.  Tranquility 20 airflow configurations are horizontal, vertical upflow and vertical downflow.  Many factory-installed options are available such as DDC controls and ClimaDry® modulating reheat.
